From the very first sip of coffee in my quiet kitchen to the closing of shop each evening, Candor has always been about more than just serving lattes. Candor means honesty, sincerity, and openness — to speak plainly, to love freely, to welcome all. The word itself comes from the Latin candēre, “to shine” — purity, brightness, an unguarded heart.

My journey started with a vision: a café where someone could come as they are — seeking community, rest, conversation, or simply a warm drink. As a Christian, I believe that every person is made in God’s image and worthy of respect, kindness, and truth. I wanted Candor to reflect that belief — a place where grace is extended, conversations are real, and the light of Christ quietly shines through how we serve.

We opened our doors with a simple promise: to create a space of welcome, authenticity, and care. Every smile, every mug poured, and every conversation has the power to reflect God’s love. And now, as Candor continues to grow, that same heart is moving beyond our café walls.
